Juliana Beckel is an internationally accomplished harpist based in New York City. Previously based in Hong Kong, she built a diverse career as a soloist, orchestral harpist, and chamber musician.

Her debut solo album, The New Yorkers (Fall 2025), explores works by composers influenced by life in New York City, spanning jazz to contemporary classical. Her second album, scheduled for Summer 2026, will focus on social dance music within the harp repertoire.

A dedicated chamber musician, Beckel was a founding member of the Hong Kong Harp Quartet and the Lilac Trio, performing in the Netherlands, Italy, Korea, and at the 9th Hong Kong International Chamber Music Festival. As an orchestral musician, she served as principal harpist of the City Chamber Orchestra of Hong Kong (CCOHK), appearing at Le French May and the Hong Kong International Piano Competition, and recording with CCOHK for Naxos Records.

A passionate educator, Beckel has been recognized by the ABRSM for excellence in guiding students to distinction-level results. She is also an active advocate for the harp, presenting salon concerts in Hong Kong and TriBeCa that introduce new audiences to the instrument and premiere new music.

Beckel holds a Bachelor of Music from the Oberlin Conservatory and a Master of Music from Rice University, where she received a full merit scholarship. She serves on the Board of Directors of the Metropolitan Opera and on the Arts & Culture Development Committee of Hudson River Park Friends.
